Baby Hope

Since it is Christmas I am going to tell you of a miracle that I have now asked of our pro-life groups across the province. Four months ago I had a call from a woman in the North of our great province and she asked me to speak to her friend who was experiencing a crisis pregnancy. After several hours of conversation this baby’s life hung in the balance and that balance was the amount of money she currently earned against the amount of money she would receive on maternity leave. This figure turned out to be $8,000 dollars.

I promised on the spot to help raise the deficit if she would only trust me and bring her little one to birth. She decided after some very tense days to carry her baby, who is now about three weeks from being born.
Her own father and siblings have abandoned and shunned her because she would not abort the child. The baby’s father wants nothing to do with either the baby or the mother. This baby will be born mid January and now I have to step up to the plate and find her financial and other help.

Eventually, legal Aid will be making sure that the baby’s father will financially support this child, but the next year will be a very difficult financial one for this young woman.

Excited about her new son or daughter

She is a very honest and courageous young woman — who is so excited about her new son or daughter. It really has been a grace to know her and even more humbling to have served her in a real hour of need.
I am asking our groups to help and invite their members to stand in the gap next year for this young mother and child.

Our prayers, financial and practical support and love will make the difference between a living child and an abortion statistic. I am asking that for the year of her maternity leave every right to life association in Ontario consider a financial donation to help her bridge the gap.

We will need between $5,000 and $8,000 over 12 months to ensure her stability. You can help in any little or big way with a financial donation sent to Alliance for Life Ontario Life marked for Baby Hope and I will make sure that this young mum receives it in the monthly allotment that she requires. I am contacting local churches and community groups and maybe together we will help this young mother’s first year with her new baby be a very special one!

We have already received adequate financial help ($800.00) for January, February and March 2010. It really is amazing how individuals open their hearts and their wallets when they know of the need. This money has been raised in Kirkland Lake, Cambridge and Guelph to date because these groups had foreknowledge of the situation.

This young woman and her child were lucky, many others are never connected. Please pray for little Baby Hope and her mother as we celebrate the birth of our own Saviour.

We have been graced as an association to know already that with mountains of love and a little bit of money there is one child to be born in 2010 - who without us would not have had the chance to know our God and his beautiful creation.
