Euthanasia

Assisted suicide and euthanasia are issues of growing concern for Canadians, as pressure to legalize these acts is growing.

These issues are of concern to pro-lifers because they involve the vulnerable members of our human family, those most in need of our care and compassion in helping them to live with dignity.

Assisted suicide is the act of intentionally killing oneself with the assistance of another person who provides the means or knowledge, or both.

Euthanasia is a deliberate act or omission undertaken with the intention of ending a person’s life with said purpose to relieve their suffering.

Neither consent nor motive changes the reality that both assisted suicide and euthanasia involve killing another human being. Killing should never be considered treatment for suffering.

We advocate for relief of suffering without killing the patient.
